Haunted House Reviews:

The Thing -

This was a great house with some amazing sets. Got a bit redundant, each ScareActor had the same costume almost. Way over used the strobe light effect. Overall it was a great house although without all the scares that you are used to!

7.5/10

Winter’s Night Haunting of Hawthorn Cemetery -

This house had some amazing sets and had great snow effects. But the house lacked a good amount of scareactors. The house was amazingly cold, and it was amazing. This house was a great house overall.

8.5/10

The Forsaken -

Had an amazing layout with some amazing costumes. But their costumes had bright green eyes which gave them away before they could scare you. Had an amazing open courtyard with at least 4 or 5 scareactors and a great hurricane scene.

9/10

The In-Between -

This house had amazing and great 3-D effects. Really sold the house, made it so cool and trippy. During one part, you fell like you are going to flip off the walkway. This house had some amazing scares and you didn’t know where the scareactors where.

9.5/10

Nevermore: Madness of Poe -

This house was the most cheesy house that you can ever see. The different Edgar Allen Poe’s looked ridiculous, they didn’t even remotely look like the real Poe. House didn’t really have that many good scares. The Ravens in the house looked like High School Mascots, but had a few good scares.

4.5/10

Saws N’ Steam: Into The Machine -

This house was a very grotesque house, not for the weak stomachs. However, had some great scares and a great theme. Not enough steam, only a few saws. Didn’t really live up to its hype, but it was a good house.

6/10

H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: Holidays of Horror -

Was a very funny house, didn’t really scare you that much. It did have some parts that made you jump, but overall it was just a comedy house. But there were elves with shotguns, what can you say?

7.5/10

Nightingales: Blood Prey

This house was by far the most scariest house that they had at HHN. This house doesn’t hesitate to bring you into the action, in the first scene you are already getting shot and trying to get eaten. Banshees provided amazing scares, the scareactors where great in this house!

9.5/10

Scare Zone Reviews:

Seven (7) -

Had some great costumes, only the Temptresses Minions were the scary ones. The Temptresses really don’t do anything but dance. Had a few chainsaws sprinkled in here and there, made it kind of scary when that chainsaw were going to be in SN’S.

6.5/10

Grown Evil -

Had way too much smoke running and you couldn’t even see the sets or the scareactors. That really took away from the zone. The scareactors were mostly on stilts and couldn’t really scare you, the scareactors that weren’t on stilts were mostly aiding the ones on stilts.

6/10

Acid Assault -

The projections were really amazing in this zone, you couldn’t even see the buildings after they “fell”, unless you where really close. The scareactors costumes were amazingly realistic and the scareactors did a great job at playing their roles.

8.5/10

Your Luck Has Run Out -

The only reason this scarezone was good was because you get to meet Lady Luck. Besides that this zone had no real point or good scares. Most of the scares were right as you enter and right as you exit.

5/10

NightMaze -

This zone was a big let down, wasn’t even scary. The maze “transforms” by the scareactors pushing some gates. The scareactors were too busy pushing and moving gates to scare anyone. One of the biggest let downs at HHN.

4/10

Canyon of Dark Souls -

This zone was surprisingly good, had some good scares and you didn’t know where the scareactors were hiding. The best part about it was the scareactors’ faces light up as they are scaring you.

8/10

Show Reviews:

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure -

Had some great laughs although it did not live up to the previous B&T shows. Was more dance than comedy this year. Borrowed alot from previous shows, but was still a great show.

7.5/10

Death Drums -

This show was nothing more than some guys on a tower playing the drums. Had no stage so everyone was crowding around and made a big congestion problem. Wasn’t even worth watching. The parts were no where even near coordinated.

3.5/10

Overall Review:

The event this year was amazing, will be talked about for a very long time. The houses were amazing and really sold the event. The ScareZones where pretty good but some of them could have been better than they where. The shows, where ok. Overall this year was amazing and really defined the season.

8.5/10
